Its creators, dissatisfied with the project, have decided to "focus on new ideas".

Bad news coming from Amazon Game Studios . Despite its great promises, the company has decided to cancel the development of Breakaway , its ambitious 4-on-4 action game that was to become the first in a series of projects to take advantage of Lumberyard Engine technology .

The authors of this multiplayer videogame have highlighted that they did not see themselves capable of reaching their own expectations, so they have chosen to cancel the project. "We have been working on community comments and improving the core of the Breakaway action," the authors of the videogame highlighted. "While we have developed many ideas and made great progress, we have also set the bar very high for ourselves."

"Despite our efforts, we were not able to achieve the breakthroughs that would allow us to create the game we all expected it to be, so after a deep search, the team has decided to focus on new ideas and, as a result, Breakaway it is no longer in development, "they conclude in their official note.

The announcement comes several months after Breakaway began its alpha testing phase . Amazon currently works on two other large projects based on Lumberyard Engine technology: Crucible and New World .
