'Ready Player One' , the new film by Steven Spielberg that adapts the novel of the same name by Ernest Cline , is one of the best tributes to the history and culture of video games. Besides the great multitude of winks to different well-known franchises , the own mechanics of some of these titles form a fundamental part of the plot of the film and the book .

Today we focus on one of the most important of the plot, which is starring one of the most important episodes in the history of this industry. Obviously, from this moment we will deal with potential spoilers of 'Ready Player One'.

In one of the most interesting chapters of 'Ready Player One', the final challenge of Halliday, has as protagonist the mythical Adventure of Atari. But the challenge is not to overcome the game but to find the famous hidden room in which the name of the designer of Warren Robinett appears . This room is considered as the first Easter Egg in the history of video games and that served to allow this developer to sign his game without the knowledge of Atari. This room is still present in the game code, so if you unpack your Atari 2600 or try the game in your browser .

To access this room, in the same way that Parzival must do in 'Ready Player One' , follow the steps below. In levels of difficulty 2 and 3, within the catacombs of the black castle, in the south wall of a chamber sealed, accessible only with the bridge, there is an invisible pixel that can be raised as one more object, this pixel is known as 'the gray point'. This 'gray dot' blends with the background, but is visible if placed on any of the walls. The square that represents the player must hit the lower wall in order to raise the 'gray point', since it is not attracted by the magnet like other objects in Adventure. You must take the "gray point" to the far right of the corridor located just below the yellow castle, while other objects of different colors are present. This makes the wall invisible and the player can access the secret room where it appears written: "Created by Warren Robinett" .
