SHADOW OF THE TOMB RAIDER , THE YOUNG LARA CROFT CULMINATES HER TRILOGY

Through a small preview, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have officially presented Shadow of the Tomb Raider , the end of the trilogy of this young Lara Croft, started five years ago with the reboot the Tomb Raider .

Lara Croft is back and in Shadow of the Tomb Raider her adventure will take her to visit more tombs and ruins, apparently this time in the Americas. Unfortunately the advance presented does not explain much about the history, characters or new game mechanics, but it makes clear that the series is back.
All information related to the title will be available on April 27, 2018 , the day when everything will be revealed and then wait a few more months for its official launch on September 14, 2018. So Lara will be back soon and surely at the level of your previous deliveries.
                       

the end of an era

The most interesting of all this is that Shadow of the Tomb Raider is presented as the end of a trilogy, which was able to bring back one of the most iconic characters in the industry. But this generates a concern, what comes from here?
Yes, I know, it's too early to be thinking about the next title in the series, but the way the game has been presented makes me understand that the studio in charge is clear about what's coming from now on and it's more likely that Let's have Lara Croft for a while.

Tomb Raider for everyone, well, almost everyone

The arrival of Shadow of the Tomb Raider also ends with the temporary exclusivity that at the time knew how to have Rise of the Tomb Raider with Xbox One . Many unknowns can be generated due to this decision, but I think that in the end everything is summarized in money, whether for Microsoft the investment did not work and / or that Square Enix sees more profitable having the title on all the consoles immediately.
What is not mentioned is the possibility of having a version for Nintendo Switch and I think that to date it is something that has never been talked about, it seems that it is not a priority for the studio at this time, so the game will be coming to PC , PS4 and Xbox One .
