Nikkei: Nintendo Switch would reach 200 million global units!

An optimistic prediction that would double global sales of Wii.

The prestigious Asian market analysis firm Nikkei has published a new article commenting on Nintendo's latest financial results , which invite a very optimistic outlook for the next few years: according to its calculations, Nintendo Switch would reach the not inconsiderable figure of 200 million units sold globally.

"It is very likely that the company's earnings will set a new record during the 2019 fiscal year," says analyst Hideki Yasuda, of the Ace Research Institute. After the commercial failure of WiiU, the value of the company's products rose thanks to Switch up to 236 billion dollars in the current fiscal year, something that has more than doubled its value in the stock market.

Within the North American market, Switch has managed to position itself as the best sold console in history in its first year of life, which is undoubtedly a good sign for the future of the console. All in all, the console's current sales are around 15 million, so Nikkei's predictions may seem exorbitant by now.
