Much of the Epic Games team is working exclusively on Fortnite!

Having abandoned projects like Paragon, its main focus now seems to be Battle Royale


In spite of being a project that carries ample baggage behind him after his presentation, until a few months ago he did not even have a promising future as a proposal. The key to ' Fortnite ' has been to adapt its formula to the much venerated Battle Royale , under a free to play model and following a strict process of constant updating and polishing. Following this pattern has catapulted it into recent popularity ratings, far surpassing its direct competitor ' PUBG '.

Epic Games will not abandon the development of new projects

The purpose behind the initiative was obviously the intention to give life to a title that had it difficult to not go unnoticed, it has ended up surprising with its success even its creative team. Speaking to Rolling Stone , Tim Sweeney (founder of Epic Games ), has confirmed that currently a large part of the team is completely focused on giving life to this innate profit generator. In total we speak of a staff of 700 people of which, mostly, work only in the aforementioned title. The manager recognizes without too much complexity that is his main bulwark and that most of his efforts are focused on him. However, he assures thatIt is not a long-term plan and that Epic Games will continue working on new projectsin the future apart from 'Fortnite'.
The director himself has remarked that Epic Games has a history of 27 years behind him. They have been main responsible for licenses of the likes of ' Gears of War ' or ' Unreal Tournament ', although it should be remembered that others like ' Paragon ' have been ruined precisely because of this restructuring of the studio in order to exponentially improve their "hen the golden eggs. " We will see how the study evolves and if it does not abandon its seal of creative identity in pursuit of a greater benefit.
